Unfortunately it didn't work out with the room. Instead of a double room, only a single room was available. The boss himself has taken care of a replacement room in the Hotel Schneider next door. Anything can happen in times of corona! For dinner we had reserved a table in Café Maare. Tafelspitz and turkey steaks are delicious! Very friendly service and we felt safe here even during Corona times. We took nut corners and they were delicious! Thanks to the whole team! Stay healthy everyone.

Very tasty, have been there several times. Always gladly again. Owner and service staff were always very friendly and attentive.

Food used to be good. No longer able to make a sauce or soup without finished ingredients. The food was cold and the soup was not edible. To smell food smell up to the street. No more deduction or the ready-made sauces and soups smell to the street. Unfortunately no longer recommended.

Every guest is looked after very courteously here. From the food to the rooms, the overall package is excellent. Thank you!

!!! LUXEMBOURG UNWANTED !!!! We had dinner on Saturday at Cafe Maarblick in Schalkenmehren. At first the service was friendly and used to joke. After ordering we had to wait quite a long time for our food and the rosé wine bottle was unfortunately brought without an ice bucket. The food was okay, apart from the rock-hard fries. When the waitress then cleared our table and we as Luxembourgers were “exposed” by our statement: “It's good that we are finally allowed to cross the border again”, the mood of the waitress shifted and it became immediately clear to us that we are not welcome here and one would have wished that the boundaries had remained. They responded to our statement with the sentence: "You don't see it that way .... the Eifel would be almost Corona free ..." It is a shame when people behave so rude to guests due to poor education and incorrect information. We will definitely not visit this place again and advise against anyone who values ​​tolerance and manners. P.S. There was no trace of any kind of insight or apology on the part of the waitress. We were also no longer asked whether we would like a dessert, although we had indicated this while the table was being covered. It is a shame that this behavior is defended here "on the Internet" ...

The view into the distance is unfortunately only available from a few tables. You are a bit disappointed when you travel specifically because of this. The food is okay. The service quite nice. The selection of cakes was extensive and the advertised bread from our own bakery was too dry and by no means fresh.

The best location in town. Service is still very important here. Super nice view of the maar, delicious pizza and a good sip of Aperol. In terms of price everything in the middle segment, nice staff, always with pleasure

We stayed in suite number 3 from August 23rd to August 30th, 2020 and felt very comfortable. The accommodation as well as the food were excellent. The staff always friendly and helpful. Thanks again for everything. We will be back definitely

Unfriendly reception, the view of the maar is great. To the answer from the owner: A friendly greeting is a matter of course for me. I can't judge the food and drinks because we left after a quick look at the terrace.

Very clean rooms, great views, extremely nice operators (they locked us out and the operators were there to help us faster than announced), great location, great breakfast included ... You couldn't ask for more! : D

Half an hour in and didn't even get out drinks or had our food order taken... better skip this place

Unique location with an amazing view over the Maar, very balanced menu, incredibly good food. Pizza, steak, ice cream and Maartaler are especially recommended. The service was perfect, friendly, quick and very accommodating. The rooms are very clean and you feel very comfortable. The price-performance ratio is really right, you really get something on offer. Highly recommended.

We went to eat here today! There was trout and pikeperch .... what can I say?!? I come from the coast myself and have seldom eaten such a wonderfully prepared fish! The service, dear Angelika, was really great !!!! Always friendly, courteous and foresighted, unfortunately, something like that is rarely seen anymore! We would like to thank you very much for the great inn. Here the heart is in the right place! We would like to come again !! THANK YOU

I really like the hotel/guesthouse, they have the most beautiful view over the lake. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. The food is truely German, and tasteful!

Nice location..but..average food, lots of flies. Slow service. The food looks Nice, but the fried potatoes where burnt and tasted greasy.

Very nice restaurant. Very nice food. Cool and friendly service. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean. Ample parking at the rear for customers. A beautiful terrace to enjoy the sunshine. In short, if we drive to Schalkemehren, then it is to Café Maarblick.

What a beautiful place for a gathering our family treffen was fantastic, service was really quick considering there were 2 large groups, the other with 30 dogs, a bit tricky but the staff coped really well. We ate we went walking round the lake back for cake and coffee. FABULOUS. Jenny from Australia. The dog people dont know how lucky they were totally not allowed in Australia.

We feel very well looked after here. Very nicely furnished suite, with great views. Lush breakfast, which leaves nothing to be desired. Very nice and hardworking staff. Menu with lots of choice and it tastes great. We certainly were not here for the last time. Thank you for the nice days in your house!

The front of this restaurant is reasonably unassuming, it is not until you get inside you realise what a fantastic location this is. Overlooking a beautiful lake, the natural views are visible from both inside and outside. If the weather allows I would highly recommend sitting on the terraced area. The ample parking opposite the restaurant, the friendly staff and the reasonable prices make this a recommended place to visit if you are in the area. I visited during the Nurburgring 24h race which can sometimes mean many places are fully booked, but I was able to eat here with a reservation - probably because it's a bit further from the circuit.

The place has great views over the lake and friendly service. However, the food is a real disappointment. Although they call themselves a restaurant, they serve frozen pizzas burnt in an oven. At least they should indicate in the menu that pizzas for 8.90 eur are frozen and heated. They offer lots of cakes, we tried 3 different ones. Streudel was a piece of rubber, impossible even to cut with a knife. The other ones were tasteless. Also, their card reading machine is so old that it accepts no V-Pay cards. Take this into account.

Super late delivery of food, 1.5 hours to get food. Then came salad, half an hour later fish. One hour later potato with it which was supposed to be oven baked but came as boiled potato without salt. Couldn't pay with card. Super horrible experience after long hiking trip

Perfect motorcycle stop, i had 5 scoops of icecream of my choice. Nice view, people and the price is right! The lakes are worth a visit!
